This tote bag was made by artisans in Kutch, India. Once almost destroyed by the earthquake in 2000, Kutch stands tall today. The people of Kutch are expert artisans skilled in the crafts of hand block printing, copper bell making, pottery, Rogan painting and embroidery to name a few.
There are 12 castes in Kutch and all of them have their own style unique style of embroidery. Local people can easily tell the cast of a person by looking at the embroidery on their clothes.
This particular bag is made of leather and decorated with Mutva embroidery from Kutch. Mutva is also name of the cast of the artisan who made this bag. Traditionally, women work on embroidery and men leather and stitching.
The inner lining is made from hand block printed cotton fabric. Additionally, the bag detailing of cut out leather enhancing beauty of the bag.
It has one main compartment and one inner zipper pocket.
